The Ayubia National Park was developed in 1984. It started with 857 acres of land, but as time went on and funding became available for this project - more than 1 thousand hectares were added to its size! 

Nowadays, you can find 3 dozen species living there, including bears- the largest animal found within these borders. The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa manages all things here while conservation efforts ensure our natural resources stay preserved.

However, it used to be very small when it was founded. Now it is big and has grown to 3,312 hectares of land. People are trying to take care of the park.

Why is Ayubia National Park called National Park? 

According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), land can only be called a national park if it is over 1,000 hectares. A national park must not have any natural resources being taken from it. 

Ayubia National Park fulfills these criteria because it is over 3,312 hectares, and there are no natural resources being taken from the land. Park Department of Government authorities is taking care of animals and birds in this national park to make sure they don't die out.

Ayubia National Park - A Forest 

The park is one of the best remaining examples of forests in Pakistan. It is filled with pine trees, which are like nails that God pounded into the earth to keep the mountains fixed. The forest spreads out on both sides, giving an expansive feeling.

There are many places to enjoy at Ayubia National Park. Adventurous people like to hike and climb mountains. The highest mountain peak in the region is called Miranjani Peak, which is where you can reach it if you go to Ayubia National Park. 

When you get there, be prepared for an amazing sight with binoculars. You can also listen to nature's noises like birds chirping or water rushing by with your ears. You might also hear a leopard roar or the howl of a wolf!

Most people visit Islamabad or Abbottabad, which are 2 hours away by car. Lots of foreigners come here because there is no official count. But roughly 250,000 visitors come each year.

It seems like you are never going to get up the hill. There are trees on both sides of the road, and you can see mountains. You should stay near Ayubia National Park if you want to explore the park in one day. There is also a pipeline walking track if you want to hike. 

The next day, plan a walk through Ayubia National Park. You will climb Mukshpuri Top, which is at an elevation of 9,800 feet above sea level. On your way there, you will see many wildflowers with species of flora and fauna. 

Also, the butterflies fly from flower to flower as they move from one place to another, looking for food or better places to live. The wildlife and park departments have been doing a great duty in managing everything efficiently. 

If you want to have a view of Kashmir and Abbottabad, then you should visit this place. You can also enjoy the forest by taking a ride on a chairlift in Ayubia National Park. There are many natural springs that flow near Murree. 

They collect water in different ponds and reservoirs, which are sources of water for Murree and the areas nearby. Changla Gali is about 14 km away from Murree, at an altitude of 2,560 meters above sea level. The protected area is surrounded by many pine trees.
